Tinolang Manok or Ayam Tinola is Filipino chicken soup. Initially, it was supposed to be green papaya but I couldn't find it in my market.

Tinola Spicy Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves Garlic, chopped

  • 1 piece Fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced

  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce

  • 3 pounds chicken legs and thighs

  • salt and pepper

  • 1/2 pound lamb lettuce

  • 2 Chili

  • 7 ounces water

  • Steps:

    Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.

    Cook and stir the onion and garlic in hot oil until fragrant.

    Stir the ginger and fish sauce quickly into the onion and garlic mixture before adding the chicken; cook together for 5 minutes.

    Pour water over the mixture and cook for another 5 minutes.

    Bring to a boil until the chicken is no longer pink in the middle, about 10 minutes.

    Season with salt and pepper.

    Add lettuce and lamb chili. Cook until the lamb lettuce only withers, 1 to 2 minutes.

    Serve heat.
